I only have one pet and he is a little dog. His name is Happy and his breed is Japanese. He is a Sheba Inu. He has many things he loves to do, a big one of those is sleeping.

   Happy sleeping on my bed

He is also a big fan of gopher hunting. Out in the west where we used to live we had a large acreage and gophers were a big problem there had to be one hundred of the things living under our property! Anyhow we soon found a solution to the problem when happy arrived on the scene. We would flood their holes and then when they came up for air Happy would dart out after them . I won't tell you the details but basically they ended up dead. Happy did his job very well and in fact after one summer with an amazing record of twenty three gopher, it seemed that the gophers were becoming much more spread out. I don't think there as one gopher that wasn't living on the back of our two and a half acre property after that summer.

Another one of Happy's favorite pastimes was chasing cats. There just so happened to be in our neighborhood the cheekiest cat I have ever seen! Her name was Tips and she seemed in no way afraid of Happy because she would strut up proudly to him at times a couple centimeters from his nose! Now happy was no dog to be made a fool of, but it just so happens that Happy had a cord or leash on him at all times so he could not run freely. I think that Tips must have known this because she  would walk right up to him and  tease him big time. Then every time when Happy got mad enough to chase her down  she would run  quickly out of his range.

He never did catch that cat, but there was the once that Tips was in his enclosure and Happy ran after her. She darted up onto an old doghouse and from there made a leap to his metal fence two and a half feet away! Amazingly she made it and jumped right off the fence and onto the pavement.

Shortly after all this  we moved out east and Happy became completely infuriated with his new enemies the squirrels and the chipmunks. These new enemies would come and walk on the fence each day to eat the food in the birdfeeder in his pen. Then he would come outside and chase them off of course they were on the fence and he was on the ground so he could do nothing. Then there was the fact that even when they came onto the ground within his pen he would chase them and then they would jump up onto the fence and out of his reach.

Then last, but not least Happy loves to chew teddies and blankets. I would say that is one of the few things he cannot resist.

Well that is all of Happy's hobbies and pastimes. And if you click on the link below you will see Happy's image gallery.
